About Amanda
Certified Massage Therapist
CAMTC #52428
Amanda has been practicing massage therapy for 20 years, and has been Board Certified since 2004. She received her 1000+ hours of training from the Palmer Institute of Massage and Bodywork in Salem, Massachusetts. Her work experience included wellness centers, upscale health clubs, and five-star hotels, before opening her private practice in 2014. With her warm personality, strong hands, and precise, attuned, "listening" touch, Amanda has often been called a natural at massage.
Amanda also holds an M.A. in somatic (aka body-oriented) counseling psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and is a psychotherapist in private practice (LMFT #90324). Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Amanda now happily calls the Bay Area home.
Massage Philosophy & Modalities
For Amanda, massage is a passion, a science, an art, a favorite form of human interaction, and a vital ingredient for mind-body health.
With each treatment Amanda generally integrates elements of deep tissue, Swedish, sports, myofascial, CranioSacral, and neuromuscular (Western trigger point). She specializes in “deep tissue flow”: an individually tailored, structurally based massage that addresses specific issues while maintaining an energetic exchange and a balanced feel. Other specialties include headaches/TMJ issues, sciatica/hip pain, and pre/post athletic event.
Amanda uses high quality, all-natural massage products.
